The tax implications of staying in Thailand depend on the length of your stay. If you reside in Thailand for over 180 days in a calendar year, you’ll be classified as a tax resident and may need to pay Thai taxes on foreign income. Following 2024 updates, Thailand now taxes foreign income of its tax residents, regardless of when or if it is remitted to Thailand. However, if your home country has a Double Tax Agreement with Thailand, you may avoid double taxation on your income.
